Casa
Tranquilla is a lovely traditional rustic Spanish cottage
set in the heart of the Valencia countryside in Pla
de Corrals. The cottage is full of tradional Spanish
charm including original olive beamed ceilings.
The property has 2 double bedrooms,
1 bathroom with shower, Spanish style kitchen with cooker,
microwave oven etc and washing machine. Large lounge
with dining area with traditional rustic furniture,
also Television with DVD player. The master bedroom
has a lovely sun terrace with seating area and fantastic
views overlooking the beautiful, lush Valencian countryside.
A very peaceful and tranquil area and only 25 mins to
the beautiful Spanish beaches of Tavernes and with easy
access to both Valencia Airport(45 mins) and Alicante
Airport (1h 30mins)..
There are 2 Spanish bars in the
village which serve 'menu del dia' for around 6€
which is a 3 course meal including beer or wine and
coffee.
The village of Barxeta is only 5 mins away and has traditional
Spanish bars and restaurants, banks, shops, and a market
once a week. There are many fiesta's held in Barxeta
village throughout the year, including fireworks and
lots of street processions with bands, including childrens
programs during the day and live music throughout the
night with street partying into the early hours. Highly
recommended if you would like to sample a real Spanish
fiesta.
The historic Castle and Town of Xativa is just 15 mins
away. This large Spanish town is full of historic buildings
and has an old part with cobbled walk-ways and plenty
of tapas bars and there is also a newer part with exclusive
shops and bars/restaurants. The Castle which overlooks
the town is open to the public and is well worth a visit.
There is a bar and restaurant at the castle too so you
can stop for refreshments. The market is open on Tuesdays
and Fridays and can be found in the old cobbled streets.
Many bargains to be had here.
There is a train station where
you can pick up a train to Valencia to go shopping.
There are regular trains to Valencia, Albacete and Alicante
from here. The high speed connection is currently being
installed and will make for easy access to both Madrid
and Barcelona..
Although there are many fiestas
in the Town of Xativa the biggest are the Fallas in
March, where large effigies are burnt in the streets,
The Three Kings on the evening of 5th January, where
a large carnival like procession is carried out through
the town, and in August usually from around the 14th
to the 20th, there is a large market throughout the
main road of the town together with funfair rides and
fireworks. This town is vibrant and totally tradional
Spanish with many things here for all age groups.
If you are looking for peace,
quiet, but close to the hustle and bustle of local life
for a 'real' Spanish holiday this is ideal.
